I wanted to get a Verizon phone because my brother raved about their service but we went into the store and service was so poor that we stormed out. If they can't help you before you're even a customer of theirs, how would they do after they got your money? So it was no Verizon for us.

We have Cingular now and it works perfectly well.

I have Verizon and so does MANgo, but for some reason, I do not get a signal and he will. Maybe I need a new phone. I've had mine for 6 years and it's been ran over. Plus, I went in for a new phone and they wanted me to pay for it. So, I think I am switching. I hardly use it, but it's the point. A customer for 6 years who barely uses the phone, but pays anyway, and they won't cough up a $100 phone? Give me a break.

Well, I bet when you reach a certain milestone, they will give you a free phone and Kurt will send you a check.

Daughter loves her Motorola Q (much more so than Crackberries). She loves being able to get online anywhere and also check her email. We were at a restaurant when all of the breaking news was happening on Monday, and we were able to keep up with it all. I have a Dell Axim PDA, but I can only get online if I have a wireless connection. Not fair!

I'm with you on Verizon, Mermaid. Unfortunately I was already locked into a contract when I ran into the same service problems at one of their local stores here. I have slightly better luck with the phone service in general - a few dropped calls here and there, etc. I don't know that I would recommend the Raz'r phone that I have, though. It's got some nice features, but the battery life is marginal - seems like I'm constantly hooking the thing up to my charger.

my phone is so old it brings to mind the ole bag phone. but, I can see it without my glasses. it works perfectly well, as long as you don't hanker for a camera which I certainly do not. I got a camera. Alltel - best coverage in sowal as far as I know.

but, I would be interested in knowing if there are other really happy customers in our area with excellent cell coverage. worth checking it out for when we are ready to upgrade to non-bag phones.

good thread aud.

ya think?:floor:

I use verizon, have for at least 10 years or more. I have had the gammit of phones...I got my newest one at contract renewal. I like it and it gets great reception. My last phone could get no reception on Grayto Beach nor at Kutr & tootsie's. This new phone does...so I am happy! It has a camera...which I never use, but they all come with those now....

We all 3 recharge ours every night before we go to bed. The more features you have, the more battery usage.

And there will always be a few dropped calls with any service.

I use the camera all the time now - my signature & avatar pics are both from the cell phone (you can send them from your phone to your email address and save to your computer - it's a pretty nifty feature!)

We use ours all the time too. They're not quality professional pix. At least not yet anyway! ;-)

As a matter of fact, my 'tar is from my phone too.

Jake. My little 4 month old nephew. My niece really lucked out. He is the sweetest thing. Never cries, always smiles and giggles. Such a pleasant baby. She wants more. Just wait 'til she gets a fussy, stubborn baby!!!!!!! There's a reason I only had one!! ( )

I don't know about Kurt sending you a check, but he will send you a SoWal.com sticker which you can wrap around your phone. :funn:

I think each verizon store is different. We got great service at the Verizon store in Midtown ATL. Even after the manager spent an hour with us and we didn't buy phones (because my husband can get a discount on phones and the monthly fees through his employer), when we went back to the store, he spent 30 minutes just helping Beach Jacket and me find fun accessories for our new phones.

On the other hand, when a few days later I had a problem with my new phone, we went to the Midtown store and they had to send us to another store that had a service technician. This guy was totally clueless. There were three customers there, and we each waited about 3 hours. It made us miss the beginning of the UF/KY game! :pissed: We even called Verizon ourselves while we were there to get tech support to tell this moron what to do. He was too stupid to do what they told him. Finally the store manager took pity on us and just swapped out my phone and provisioned the new phone.:bang:

We get better coverage with Verizon than with T-Mobile or Cingular. With T-Mobile, I rarely could get a signal in my house. Now that's not a problem.

I think you should get a new Shell phone. All the so-wallers are using them now. :funn:
