You are just a animal![]()
Yeah, that's me. Kinky. Dangitall, those pesky advertisers are annoying. Have you tried spybot.com? Gets rid of lurkers on your system. Or, just go along with the porn and start looking......maybe that will make them all happy.![]()
I did consider that, but it just gets boring rather quickly.
This happened on our home computer one time. I just asked Chris what we did to get rid of it. He said go to cnet.com, lookup downloads, then download advanced system care 3, its free. Also, Malwarebytes is a free download and it works well for us. Both will scan your computer, find the virus then you can delete or quarantine it. Good luck DD. I hate those bastages that create these viruses !!!! I'll meet you over in s/d/c later!!!!
The good news is that you don't have a virus. You have adware, which is intended to scared you into thinking you have a virus. Virus software won't typically find adware.
Also, you should note that some very popular anti-adware software will not find it either, because the adware is programmed to hide itself by using file names of those popular software programs. Tricky, tricky, tricky.
Solution is to download free version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware from Cnet.com, as stated by castlesofsand. Run that and it should clear it. You would also do well to run it once a week or so.
Are you still using Internet Explorer? Ditch that crap and download Mozilla Firefox to use as your browser. This, too, will help fight against the pop-ups.
Unless your computer goes to blue screen with a bunch of coded text when you turn it on, the above should work. If the puter gets locked down, it takes a bit more trickery to get rid of it, but it is also very doable.
JFunn had this too, it's a real biatch to get rid of. Generally it involves removing a proxy and scanning in safe mode. I don't have anything on my plate tonight if you want to call and I'll walk you through it.

Now uninstall the program, otherwise it'll drive you nuts in no time asking you to buy.
