I'm not saying I am. But, IF I did. What breed should I get? I already have a few names in mind.

Aww, Aud, why don't you want another dog? You are such a good doggie mommy.
i just don't think i could take my heart breaking again. i'm delicate.

Labs shed and chew, and chew, and will chew up everything you own, and don't slow down on the chewing until they are three or so, but are VERY sweet and VERY loyal.Need a big fenced yard, though. They need to be able to run. And run. And stop and chew up something, and run some more.
Or maybe my Daisy is just high-strung?
No, SN, your Daisy is not high-strung. My Maggie will be three in May and has almost stopped chewing. She too requires a lot of walking, running, and exercise, which sadly, most nights, I'm too tired to take her. mr. dd does a good job of stepping in for me though.
But, you are right, she is sooooooooo sweet and loyal. Now if I could just buy a freakin' truck load of those pet hair rollers with the sticky paper stuff on them!!!
needs to get out more
pound puppy

i have no intention of getting another dog, but if i ever did, the bichon frise is awfully cute, along with they ****zu and the pekingese !
I like bichons as well...I have 2! They are smart, entertaining and very loving. They do not like being left alone and are pretty high maintanence if you keep them groomed. I inherited my first, Maggie, and she was perfect.
Whatever you choose will be great! True unconditional love.
..my hubby says that they are the only ones who greet him when he comes home with their tail wagging!:funn:SoWal Insider

YES! Five (5)!!!!!!!!! That is a mighty small dog to have 5 puppies! They are gorgeous! I need one! But...poor little Sweetie (in my picture) is 9 years old and am afraid she woud wig out! They are the sweetest, smartest, best dogs ever. They do not shed, thier hair grows like a persons and has to be cut...it does not fall out. If you want a lap dog, that does not bark....this is it!![]()

Now this is a FUNN thread! Yes, Whiteyfunn, I do have babies....5! Today three opened their eyes.:clap_1:
I worked to get them on my avitar tonight late... and another in this post but it just wasn't happening.
Maybe tomorrow
They are Shih Tzu...pronounced "Sheed Zoo"...or as we've all heard a few other charming names
Everyone has their own breed that they love, that fits their personality, lifestyle, and about 100 hundred other reasons.I have had many breeds since childhood and quite a few shelter dogs that were as good as gold. My father was a breeder of Beagles and Wiemereiners. I love all breeds....and at different times in my life it seems a certain breed was just right.
I don't want to make this long....just take your time. Ask yourself what YOU are looking for in a companion, because that is what they are. Ask others why they like the breed they have. Since you work it might be best to have two...yes, I said two. Dogs do not like to be alone....and they will let you know it.
It took me two years of researching and looking into different breeders before I bought mine. I liked that their hair is like human hair and sheds VERY little. They are not barkers...unless they learn it from a dog you may already have that barks. And they have so much love to give....more then any dog I've ever owned.
In the past two years I've acquired three....they are like potato chips....you cannot have just one!!! My eldest daughter loved one of mine so much (he's the father) that I let him go live with her and her 6year old twins. So I have the mother (champagne color) and a Chinese Imperial Shih Tzu (gold with black mask) who weighs 4.2 pounds. I picked him up in New Orleans and he's my baby. Named him "MoJo" Cast a Spell on Me.
So much for dogs right now...this Kat needs to go to bed. Good Luck! I'll post my adult dogs pictures tomorrow.

My 2 cents:
Gotta love the corgis! They're smart, affectionate, not too needy and don't run off. They'll stick like glue to you ...

kimmi and i had a corgi that stuck to us like glue. the only thing was (not that it was a problem) it wasn't ours! it lived across the street  when we would get home from work the dog would be on the porch waiting for us :funn: i think we served better treats

My Mom has one that looks like this. She is a very sweet dog. Who also has lizard breath. When I went down to take care of my mom a couple months ago I was letting Katie in and she had a lizard hanging half way out of her mouth.
Is this a common florida dog thing?

My neice has a boston terrier and the first time I saw it I thought it was a french bull dog. I'm becoming a little partial to those too.![]()
I don't think so OL. My little girl Bailey does that at home in Ga. Actually she just trotted in with one. I have now had my cardio for the day, as I have chased her around the house for 30 minutes trying to get it to put it back outside!

Okay, here's my little MoJo. He is so sweet...in fact he gets into the bed with the puppies and cuddles with them. I think he would have made a better mother! Tries to herd them when they are all out together...going in 5 directions.

We don't have lizards here so I don't know! So Bailey doesn't eat them?
Kat, your Mojo is sooo cute and the puppies are precious. I look forward to more pics as they grow.

Oh yeah! Then she wants to "kiss" you on the mouth right after!
The vet told me to cut down on her food. So I did. She supplements with anything that moves in the yard! Little ratter!SoWal Expert
