It's Good Neighbor Day

I have thought about having a neighborhood party. Only one couple we don't know. I tend to over-do parties because of my reputation as a great cook. As a result, we don't entertain much because it's too much work. New paradigm for me -- KISS (keep it simple stupid). Entertain more, and simplify.

I should do that with my beach neighbors as well.

I hear ya. Most of our neighbors in GA have old money, so they look down on people like us because we got where we are due to our hard work and brain power by getting Ph.D.s in the sciences.

We were at the country club one night. One of our neighbors said in a loud voice, "Isn't old money just the best! Can you IMAGINE having to WORK for money?" As she said that and giggled, she then made a face as though she was totally disgusted. Her friends at the table laughed and totally agreed with her. :pissed:

I'd like to move to SoWal. Unfortunately I am too far from retirement to do so due to health insurance. Plus even when I get 65, none of my doctors in ATL take Medicare patients. So I'll have to find new doctors who don't know me, unlike my current doctors who have been my doctors since I was 30. Actually my dermatologist was my doc when I was a teenager.

Do any of you know if not taking Medicare patients is a problem in SoWal?

Our SoWal neighbors are just so nice. Maybe I'll skip the party in GA and just have a party for my SoWal neighbors. :wave:

I love my neighbors!! Don't have many but the ones I do are great!

There are neighbors and there are people who live next door.The ones who live next door seldom become neighbors. Just personal experience speaking.
