THIS IS A GOOD BOOK!!!!! it does not matter if the big "O" put it on her list or not, it does not matter if he fabricated some of the book!!!
This book has an honest deep look at addicts PERIOD.
no matter what the hubub is , the bottom line ....."A GREAT READ"

those of you who have read the book - do you think he was really addicted to whatever he said he was addicted to, or is he just making that up too ? i haven't read the book, don't think i will. i see enough drug seekers at work every other week, i don't really want to read about them too.

No way, I won't slam you for that. I agree wholeheartedly. I actually don't think anyone is even arguing that; disputing the quality of the storytelling. James is a gifted writer, no question. But the bottom line is, you don't sell something as a work of nonfiction if it's not. One of the reporters quoted said, "It didn't change the way I felt about the book, it changed the way I felt about the author." Well said.
Oh, and P.S.--Sorry to say, but it absolutely does matter if O put it on her list! She has made him rich, like it/her or not!

No question, I believe 100% that he is a recovering addict. In fact, I sincerely pray that all of this stress and attention doesn't make him want to start using again.

sounds like he needs some mental therapy as well. and this is one of the reasons i don't care for oprah. while i think she has good intentions, she needs to keep her opinions to herself most of the time because people take her word as gospel and it just ain't so.
