Jdarg, is the photo in your avatar, an example of Kate's way of keeping the donut hole in tact?

We took this picture awhile back, when there was a discussion of donut holes. It turned out pretty well!

Yes, that is the remnants of Kate's donut breakfast. If I fill up the hole with icing, she will eat the hole. But an empty hole is left on the plate. I told Cil earlier that she must see something in that hole that we can't. Or, she's wiser than all of us and refuses to take a bite of nothing- a total waste of her time!

Mr. Bean was getting tired of holding that pose, so I gave him a rest.

The plate was for show. She eats them straight out of the box. Can't get this kid to eat much more than straight sugar for breakfast. I'm mother of the year, you know!

Hey that donut was probably made with eggs somewhere through the donut process. That's breakfast! Your mom of the year award is safe and deserved.

Krispy Kreme. Can you get'em down there? Or should I bring us a box for a little treat when we come down in September?

Back in "the day", as in the day I could eat and drink whatever I wanted, I could polish off an entire box of KK's.

But are they hot? That's the best, I swear you can eat 4 or 5 of them without even thinking about it when they are still warm.
So tempting. Satan food I tell ya, get thee behind me...come to think of it they do end up there.

Growing up, I thought the KK store here was the ONLY place on earth to get warm Krispies. So when I started to get out into the world and noticed they were EVERYWHERE, I was pretty bummed. I still love them, but not enough to polish off a box.

My tastes have matured. If you put a bag of crunchy Cheetohs in front of me now, it will be gone in NO time!!

If you pick them up at the Tom Thumb or Seagrove Market or Grayton Corners (or other places) early enough, they are warm and soft and very fresh, but not hot... I could still inhale the entire box.

you can drive all the way into destin for the hotties...

A kindred spirit--I don't like them, either! I only like cake donuts. Used to be when we'd visit Grannie in Mobile, she always had my favorite--cake KK's with chocolate icing and chopped peanuts on top. Can't even get those anymore, least not here in the Midwest.

We can get those here but you have to go to the KK bakery tho, not the delivered ones at the grocery stores.

Yeah, that's what I meant--we can't get them at the actual KK store, if you can believe that. How is it that you're farther north than me and you can get them? There is no justice! :bang:
Toots--I apologize, I wasn't trying to sabotage your healthy lifestyle! ;-)
