I have lived here seven years and the last three have been far safer for going into the Gulf thanks to our South Walton Surf Rescue team. The County Commisioners proclamed Beach Saftey Week for the last of May to include Memorial Day Weekend. Next time you go to The Beach swim near a lifeguard and it doesn't hurt to say THANKS. They will risk their lives for you.
