Beach Comber
Hard to believe we are already looking toward July, but the peak of summer is right around the corner! For anyone planning their 4th of July week along 30A, now is the time to start mapping out your strategy, whether you're a local preparing for the rush or a visitor trying to navigate the busiest week of the year.

The 30A corridor always goes all out for Independence Day, and this year is shaping up to be spectacular. From the classic morning bike parades in Seaside and Rosemary Beach to the incredible evening firework displays over the Gulf, there is no shortage of ways to celebrate.

If you are trying to make the most of the holiday, here are a few staple community events to keep on your radar:

  • Community Bike Parades: Rosemary Beach, Seaside, and various neighborhoods usually host their annual decorated bike parades in the morning. It’s the ultimate family-friendly tradition—just make sure to decorate your wheels with plenty of red, white, and blue!
  • Where to Watch Fireworks: You can generally count on massive, stunning displays over the water. Top viewing spots typically include the pier at Russell-Fields in PCB, Alys Beach, and Seaside. Finding a spot on the beach early is highly recommended.
  • Live Music & Festivities: Keep an eye out for local venue lineups. Places like the Big Chill, Gullion's, and the local greens always pull together excellent live entertainment for the holiday weekend.
A Few Quick Survival Tips for the Week:

  1. Traffic & Parking: Expect heavy traffic along Scenic Highway 30A and Highway 98. If you're heading to popular spots like Grayton Beach or Inlet Beach, arrive early or utilize golf carts and bikes.
  2. Beach Safety: Always keep an eye on the beach flags before heading into the Gulf. If it’s a single red flag day, remember the local rule of thumb: #KneeDeepIsTooDeep.
  3. Leave No Trace: Let’s keep our beaches pristine. Clean up all trash, toys, and gear at the end of the day to protect our nesting sea turtles.
What are your go-to plans or favorite spots to watch the fireworks this year?
