For that $ you may want to consider the NoWal area, or South Dothan.

:wave:With the market being the way it is I was hoping to get lucky? To get right down to business $300k or less???

We've got a house in that range (low 200K) but it is in PCB. You might want to consider that area (the quiet west end of PCB). It's nice and only a couple of miles from Inlet Beach.

No need for luck with this search. Those saying that are just disinformed. Not sure what the forum etiquette dictates as far as posting links but here's one place in Sowal off 98 that has new homes (not townhomes or condos) starting at $169k and also offers rent to own. plantationsantarosa dot com.

Also, I think you might have luck with Church St Village. They have new homes in the price range of low 300's for sure, and I think some are even in the 200's right now. And they would probably talk rent to own with you. I would give you more definite info on that but their website has been down for a while (kruserealty dot com). If you want more info on that you could pm me. I didn't want to put his contact info all over without consulting him.

If you include condos and townhomes you have more options. There are 96 properties from 100k-300k listed on destin123 dot com in Santa Rosa Beach alone. But most are townhomes and condos in that range, just a few houses.

Snowman, boy is that appropriate, care to tell us the difference between owner financed and rent to own?

2 Bedroom Home (Foreclosure) in Church Street Village listed at $220,000. Could probably be had at $200,000 or less.

2 Bedroom Condo (Foreclosure) in Topsail listed at $134,900.

Sowal is becoming affordable for many.

Foreclosures in Bayside are selling the $180-$190,000 range.

If it's Topsail Village that place is a dump, $134,900 is about $50,000 overpriced.

You should have told the guy that paid $380,000 for it in 2005.

I believe most "lease to own" contracts have buy out prices set at the time of the contract signing. Please be careful with this Indie, prices are going to continue to decline. An alternative would be to simply rent for a rate that insures you have excess capital you can commit to a savings account. Three years from now when the market is much lower you can use that as a down payment on your new home.

Still over priced, but congrats to whoever unloaded it.

I am looking for a 2 or 3 bedroom in the sowal area. I'd like to rent to own. My price range is $200,000.00 or less.
