I wonder why they are doing this. The storm will be long gone by then. Will they replay it later in the year?

It's been postponed until November 15. They did it because Baton Rouge, where the game was scheduled to be played, is a mess. Most of the city is without power, and at least half are not expected to get power for 3-4 weeks. All the news was focused on New Orleans, but BR got slammed. Worse than Betsy, much worse than Katrina.

Miss Critter,
You are so right about the media coverage. Yes, Baton Rouge - where I'm originally from and still have all my family living there - experienced incredible amounts of destruction. Lots of damage, lots of trees on houses, power lines down, etc. Far worse than what B.R. experienced during Katrina and equal to if not more than Hurricane Betsy, according to my parents.
I got really frustrated watching the media coverage because so much attention was paid to New Orleans and didn't focus on the parts of the state, like Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Houma, and other towns and parishes to the west of N.O. that were really feeling the brunt of this particular storm.
My thoughts and prayers are with anyone with family members in South Louisiana who have a long road ahead of them to get things back up and running.

Mr. Critter's family is there. He and Critter Junior left this morning to rescue his mom. Our niece and nephew are also staying with us. It's gonna be awhile before BR is back to normal, but no national news coverage. :idontno: At least this time, they have a governor who can handle it.

I was saddened that they cancelled the game. WIth the Cortana Mall and Mall of Louisiana working smoothly then why not Tiger Stadium. The people here could use a good few hours of funn. At least we have the Saints game against the Bucs to look forward to.
I "heard on the radio" that it was due to some engineers inspecting the stadium and wanted to make sure on some things. I could be wrong. There have been quite a few stations that are giving false info out.

Also the fact that since much of the city is still without power, traffic signals are not working. Can you imagine game day traffic with no traffic signals and trees still down on many roads?

I hear they are now looking to move the North Texas game to the Superdome (never mind about 20k fewer seats in the dome!) or even the Cotton Bowl!:yikes:
It kinda feels like LSU has not even started playing yet.
