side note - I don't understand the basis behind the Hitler comparison. Besides being offensive, I don't get the point.

They can't grasp that Hitler was an extreme right wing nut and that calling Obama Hitler by their standards is a compliment.

problem is that these people dont get specific in their "hitler" comparison. its not that obama is a murderous villian, but rather uses the same political stradegy as hitler. thats actually very true. obama isnt about to march the opposition into ovens, but he will and has used the same political stradegy in getting his way. its dumb and they are the minority at these town hall meetings trust me on this. but the media for personal and political gain will point these morons out to label the entire opposition and the american people see this now.

and lucifersam, i would look into nazis history a bit more if you think hitler was a true rightwing nut. im just saying....

It doesn't matter what they were called or what label was applied. They were primarily fascist which is a characteristic of the extreme right.

Maybe. But, I've been told that a fascist can be extreme left or right. Operative word being extreme, which in a two party system, we have on both sides.

Hitler was a NAZI (a socialist of the most hideous nature) and he did use his charisma, charm, etc. to gain ground on his objectives, one of which eliminating not only an entire race, but of creating 'the only' race (in his mind) based upon genetics, great looks, health, intelligence and strength. As well as being the World Power.

I would not compare Obama to Hitler for these reasons. But, Obama is a very charismatic speaker, leader much like Bill Clinton.

fascism - A social and political ideology with the primary guiding principle that the state or nation is the highest priority, rather than personal or individual freedoms. ...

Just about what the Obama administration is advocating. All the big corps.( big banks, Wall Street, oil companies, insurance companies) are the bad guys and the Federal Gov. is you friend.

Hitler was considered to be to the right. Stalin I believe was a leftist fascist. In this country, the more authoritarian (fascist tendencies) tend to be conservative Republicans. There are some fiscal conservatives with more liberal tendencies socially (Libertarians).

You must realize only the left is allowed to run around labeling a US President a nazi, satan, Hitler etc. When the left protests, their message and movement is considered grass roots and organic, with activists leading the cause. When the right protests we are nothing more than a bunch of redneck clan members synthetically organized by big insurance companies with nazis leading the cause. We are supposed to just work hard, shut the f up and keep the money flowing for the infinite number of government teet programs that support those that evil America has so devilishly wronged. Our government's fostering of dependents is a slippery slope that has created a spreading rash of victimhood and entitlement mental disorders. The government healthcare plan is no different, only its' long term aim is to eliminate choice completely and move the entire population on our first step down the road towards total dependency. I guess the only right to choose that will be left when it comes to healthcare will be a woman's right to choose...Lord knows they don't want that choice taken off the table.

Just one man's opinion, but fascism sounds a lot more like the Bush administration: The 14 Characteristics of Fascism, by Lawrence Britt, Spring 2003

Key words there are sounds a lot more like the Bush administration: and thats just one mans opinion also, but then again you hate Bush and nothing he did in your eyes would be worthy of good.

You should be commending me for my openmindedness. I never said I hated Bush, but if you insist 😀 ....

please tell me, what's "openminded" about anything you have said on this post? to me its liberal codeword for losing a debate and not being able to provide any specifics.

i challenge you to provide something that would make bush a facist other than whats been shoved down our throats by the fringe left.

this should be interesting....

It's openminded because I didn't pass off the 14 points as indisputable fact, though I happen to agree with many of them. I didn't say Bush was a fascist. [Edit] WTF am I doing wasting my time explaining myself to you??
