Nacho's Back...

Nacho is back. Well, not back, but has seemed to make his little way from the upper east side down to the west village.

Nacho as in Nacho average mouse. :(

Guess I have to start signing up for the pest control service.

Anyone got any suggestions as to how to get rid of the little dude other than stuffing holes, putting out traps- which I don't know if I can handle or getting the pest control guy to come? I'll admit...I've been busy and fallen a little behind in dishes. I know...gross...right.

You gotta get over it and set out a good old fashioned snapping mousetrap. Use lightly cooked bacon for the bait;wrap it real well around the bait holder. Set it up against a wall in the kitchen or wherever you see mouse evidence. Nacho will be gone soon. No fear of suffering-those things are like rodent guillotines. Not messy either. Do not use glue traps, they are gross. Do not use poison;Nacho will die in your wall and then things will get truly unpleasant. :(

Yeah...I definitely don't want to smell Nacho in a couple months. I need to clean clean clean too. I will keep you posted. Nacho should meet his fate soon. He was pretty chubby and slow so he could be easy.

Does Ms kitty know this???

Girlie tip from my apartment days...Put the trap on newspaper and when you have nacho where you want him, scoop it up and toss the whole thing. I know you are supposed to disengage the trap to use again. But I couldn't stand the thought of touching it and I felt bad for dead Mickey. Weird I know, but I just wrapped it all up and threw it out. This or ask the hottie down the hall to help get rid of the little vermin and bring you back the trap.

Ask Mermaid. :funn:
(That's the reason we had a basement slumber party at her house that weekend; because she discovered Nacho in the spare bedroom.)
Kimmi, I've only had luck with conventional traps, sorry. And that's what Jenay and I both told Mermaid that weekend. Lot cheaper than the pest control guy. You know enough boys who'd take a trap out for you, don't you, mama? ;-)

we had a mouse for about a day at my place in neptune and we put out a glue trap. when the mouse is on the trap you just take it out and let him go. your problem is who is going to pick the trap up with the mouse on it. i lived with boys who took care of it.

We had 3 very big cats at our last house, which was an old farmhouse-type house, so lots of ways for the mice to get in when the weather turned cold. Their favorite place to live was under the gas range. Our cats were absolutely worthless in taking care of our visitors. In fact, Toonces (may he RIP:( ) very proudly showed us the mouse that he finally caught. It wasn't too hard- the mouse was in the mousetrap. But he was pretty excited that he had one!:floor:

Catching that mouse in the trap was really good for Toonces' self-esteem. He was kind of a lumpy guy (21 pounds), and a bit self-concious about his physique- looked like the cat version of the Subway guy before he lost the weight! We never could convince him that every meal was not his last- he literally panicked over food.

Well my dad always thought I was silly and wasteful throwing out a trap that cost good money! Hey, money well spent, and I didn't have to buy cat food for it. So I was actually saving money. Guys seem to get over the mouse thing, not many are afraid of them. I loved the Sex in the City episode where the mouse was in Carries hair 😱 That would just freak me out.

Oh well. I haven't seen alot of movies and people act shocked! I DO have better things to do than to see every single movie out there!

Don't feel bad Audie "TV rots your brain!" (As the babysitter on "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead said. That's one movie I have seen).

I liked the Golden Girls too Audie. Sex in the City is like the Golden girls before they were golden. The characters are a lot alike just younger and have lots more sex. Well maybe not more than Blanche. 😀

That's why he wouldn't catch mice - you fed him to much. My daughter has a horse farm and she has this cat that is as fat as can be that's her ratcat. I know this sounds cruel but she only feeds the cat once or twice a week but it is soooo not starving. It could be the model for the fat cat line of clothing :floor: . Anyway not 1 rat anymore and they always used to be in the barn before shadow came along.

BTW - the Golden Girls rule! Funny as hell. Watching them now:floor:
