Need New Housekeeper

Mango, don't you know the expression "I'd tell you my secret but then I'd have to kill you?" That's the way it is in SoWal with housekeepers. We don't share our national treasures (oops, I meant "housekeepers")!!!!! :floor:

Actual pre-wedding advice given to a friend of mine by her mother:
"Never share your housekeeper, or your husband - in that order" :rofl:

:floor: ...I understand about not sharing a great housekeeper...this works for great dog sitters too. We have a fabulous dog sitter. She has a large rambling ranch home with a very large fenced-in back yard. While she has boarding facilities just off her personal residence, she takes my guys right into her home and treats them as she would her own. When they go there, they "chatter" with joyful anticipation. They just love her. Well, I had to share the news about this great dog sitter with all my friends who have dogs. Needless to say, there were times when she was too booked to take my guys. She would do people I recommended the same favour by taking their pampered pooches into her home too. Yes, I just had to tickle the back of my throat with my great big toes, and blab to everyone about how great she is! :bang: But, to show you just how great she really is, she now has us perpetually booked for all the holidays. If I won't be needing her, I just call a few weeks beforehand and cancel :wub:

Wish she were here so we could use her for our 12 yr old dog! Wished I knew someone personally here we could leave ours with. But it won't be my mother-in-law. Couldn't for her cats and another reason! Sure wish we could move there and I could find a job cleaning beach condos. Couldn't afford to live there though.

Seriously, let's all just spill the beans about our good housekeepers. They could use the extra work, perhaps...

I probably will just keep my current housekeeper. I have not had complaints from everyone and at least she shows up. She wants to increase the rate by $50 a turn on both my homes and so I got sticker shock. I have been paying the same rate for 2 years.

Probably will stick with who I have and eat the large increase. From what I am finding out, my rate may have been too low, but have paying that for 2 years, so was shocked to hear she was asking for a 35% increase. Shes been cleaning for 7 years, so she had to know what the going rates where when she took the accounts. Freinds of mine at rental agencies say they have housekeepers who dont even show up 😱
