I like the name Steve for President. Is he cute? Common sense might get your behind kicked in D.C.

Eight-year terms and term limits for all politicians...:clap_1: We seem to get mostly incumbents, anyway for the first reelection. And it generally takes more than eight years for these people to get well enough connected or on crucial committees so that they are totally compromised by the lobbying interests. The pressure of campaign financing has created a horrible corruption in our government, even at the local levels, but Washington, D.C. is a lost cause without some radical change.
Even in our little town, the then-Mayor pushed a plan to pay this Wash., DC lobbyist $650 per hr. (you read that right) to lobby for funds for a Napa River flood control project. When I asked who this woman was supposed to lobby, the answer was Senator _______________, who lives right here in our little town! I said, "Gee, folks...for $35, I'll walk out to our road and trip him up one day when he's out running." Which is any day that he's in town. Well, turned out that the very respectable Sen. _________ was the person who recommended to our Mayor that the City hire this lobbyist. He was angling for a campaign donation from the lobbying law firm she worked for. :idontno: Mercy.
In 2008, Joe Biden for Pres. and Barak Obama for Veep. I know, I know...BO doesn't have a lot of experience. But he's smart and articulate and a lot better than Dan Quayle. And in order to win a Pres. election, the Dems must get out the African American vote. I believe the only way to accomplish this will be to have an African American man (yes, it will have to be a man the first time) on that ballot. Just my thoughts on this subject.
