Hi, everyone, On Christmas day my husband and I visited Grayton Beach State Park for the first time and really liked it. We noticed a channel at the west end of the park that was running between a pond or lake and the Gulf. The water was running really fast, to the south away from the pond, so fast that chunks of beach were falling off into the channel and making loud sounds. As the water reached the Gulf, it was churning in big swirls, and scads of birds were gathering there and swooping around and catching fish. It looked as if the channel was new. Does anybody know if it was a new channel? If so, I will be excited to have witnessed the creation of a new geographic feature.I would be grateful for any light shed on this question. I'm attaching a photo I took looking west toward the channel.
