Hi, I am a new member and just wanted to introduce myself very quickly. My name is Marty and I have been a home owner on Tangomar Rd near Sandestin since 1990. I also have a home in Saint Louis, Mo and spend a good part of my time up there. Now retired from SBC
(ATT) for the past 6 years with a wife, 3 grown kids and my "baby" (my dog Fritz). Please bear with me if I post anything that has already been said or discussed before. Looking forward to "conversing" with my fellow South Walton friends.

:clap_1::clap_1: Should be a good one. If we can get all that nasty business out of our heads and just show Detroit how we play baseball down here!!! I have a line on some tickets for Weds game, so keep your fingers crossed for me!!! Although according to Scott Connel, that game won't be played until friday![/quote]
Who is Scott Connel, because it is 9:17 p.m. Wednesday night and they haven't decided on the game yet.Ask him if the Cards are going to win the series.

Isn't he the Channel 5 weather guy? They're getting ready to make an announcement. I'm sure the game has been postponed....fans are beginning to pour out of the stadium

It's official - game postponed. It's supposed to rain tomorrow night too. This could get interesting. Wonder what they do in this case....stay holed up in a hotel until the rain goes away?

It could be, but he is not on any of our Kentucky channels. I wondered the other night when ktschris posted this who he was. Looks like he is correct . . . so far.

I bet the Seacliffe's aren't happy campers about now!

No, I wouldn't think anyone there is too happy, especially those that have driven 3 hrs or more and now they are going to have to turn around and drive home. I wonder if ktschris ended up with some tickets?

I bet so, otherwise ktschris surely would have chimed in by now, don't you think?
Looks like Seacliffes and the others (hopefully ktschris too!) will be returning to Busch Stadium on Friday night to see the game that was supposed to be played tonight.

What about tomorrow (Thursday) night?

Yeah I'm back home after spending about a $100 on beer at the Casino Queen party room at the stadium.
There was no way they were ever going to play this game, but they made the fans hang out there for two hours before they made the decision. Oh well, as someone stated the game is now slated for Friday and we will be back down at the stadium. I also think Thursday's game will be rained out. Just happy the team is in the Series....

Yeah, the beer shot in my Avitar is one I took on our beach about 3 weeks ago. There wasn't some fat guy in a speedo in the background like on the commercial though. Nothing like a cold one on the beach in OCT.Late chiming in here......![]()
Anyway, I have been reading some of the threads and this Forum is great. Wish I had found out about it a long time ago.

So you'll get two nights of funn for the price of one...well maybe not exactly considering the $100 beer bill. ;-) But Friday is a better party night anyway, and now you have something to look forward to. I'm soooooooo jealous!!! (but I have to admit, I wasn't quite as jealous last night)
I sure hope they get the game in tonight. They're saying intermittent showers. Guess that means the tarp will be rolling back and forth tonight.

Thanks Hop, that means alot
.
BTW as it turns out the rain out game that we had tickets to (Wed. night) has now turned into a positive for us. Those tickets are good for tonight's game which may very well be the final game of the series and what would be better than to be there when the Cards win the World Series!!! ? The glass is indeed half full.....;-)

I always say something good comes out of something bad. So there you go Marty, now look at you getting to go to what could possibly be a victory for the Cards since 1982. Good luck and have much funn!!!!!!!!!!

Wow...Seacliffes saw one heck of a game!!!!! How neat is that...all the Wednesday night fans who stuck it out in the cold and rain until they finally postponed the game got to come back Friday night and see the BIG WIN!!!:clap_1: :clap_1:
I can't wait for the parade tomorrow! Tickets are going to hard to get for the Busch Stadium event. They gave some away to fans last night after the game, and the rest are going to be available on-line. Sure wish I had DSL!

WOW! My wife Susan and I were sure lucky to see a great game!
The energy in the stadium was something I will never forget.
Thanks for all the kind words and support. Once again a negative (the rainout) has turned into a positive. Needless to say, the game was exciting and it was a moment I have been waiting for my entire adult life. I am a big baseball fan and this one means a lot to me as I am sure it does for all baseball fans in Saint Louis.
Nobody gave the Cards a chance of winning this, but the "under dogs" came through.
