2 of my neighbors have just moved in their homes full time. One is a rather young couple (not retirement age) who sold a business in Atlanta, (they have no work yet down in SoWal, but looking) and the other, a family with 2 children. (Apparently he can telecommute)
Anybody else noticing this trend?
We saw this happen on the East Coast in New Jersey on a barrier island called Long Beach Island where we have vacationed for 17 years since its in driving distance to us by only 2.5 hrs. Used to be we could find a house rental in March or so. Now because so many people live in them full time, we have to book ours in January. Fortunately we found one the past few years that was not sold, and oceanfront, so we re-book it the same time we are down to guarantee our week.
Just odd that 2 families out of 22 in my development are moving in now. Probably hust coincidence, but maybe not?

I see it as a good sign. Always did think that owner-occupied primary residences made for the best and most stable neighborhoods.

It's a trend I've noticed for a number of years.
