For all the folks freaking out about restaurants closing down, this is normal and shows a return to pre pandemic norms.

Many of our local restaurants take this slow time to deep clean, make repairs and update things. They will all reopen when they have posted.

Welcome to the off season we haven't had for 3 years!

I guess it says something about profitability when a restaurant can close for a month every year. Do they do that in non tourist towns?

Yes, mostly without the year-round tourism that the pandemic brought, it's cheaper to close and make repairs than staff an almost empty establishment.

Many restaurants used to close for winter season, or at least for a short period in the slow season, over the years. things have changed quite a bit. Now, quite a few may change their hours, cut back on days open, or just close for a few weeks or so for improvements and a little time off.
