Scott's campaign has set up this link to send pre-written letters to the editors of major papers telling them what a great job Scott is doing.

Guess actually doing a great job so you didn't have to write fake letters and have your sheeple send them to newspapers is too difficult.

http://www.rickscottforflorida.com/2011/06/14/email-a-newspaper-editor/

That is just pathetic, but I guess if you're dumb enough to think Scott is doing a great job, writing a coherent letter is probably beyond your abilities.

Without a doubt, the sleaziest politician I has ever witness. He thinks of us as sheep and he has no qualms about pouring on the propaganda. Now that he has vetoed the funding for NPR,( approved by the legislature for the past 35 years,) there will be little chance of any accurate reporting on this scumbag. We will be hearing about what a great job he is doing every week until he buys the next election.

While I think it is absolutely ludicrous to establish a fake letter campaign, I disagree with your assessment of what Scott is doing. He is doing almost exactly what he said during his campaign. And Scooter, you do a disservie to a lot of people by insinuating the're too dumb to write a coherent letter. Governor Scott, while maybe not doing great, is doing just fine. Oh, and thanks...I'm one of those thousands of dumb ones that supported his promises, but what the hell, I only have a Master's Degree and over 60 years of work experience. What do those of your generation have? Lots of hope, I guess.

You can vote against him just as I plan to vote against Obama.

I retract what I said about the fake letter campaign after reading what was being requested. He is asking for support against those who are attacking him and his policies. Whether you agree or not, that is not at all unusual for an individual or organization.
I, and millions of retired and active duty military, belong to MOAA (Military Officers Assocition of America) and they consistently put out letters for their members to submit to their members of Congress. There is nothing wrong with that and you certainly aren't coerced into submitting them.

Recent poll results I've seen show a more idiological split of likely voters. I've not seen a recent poll with an approve/disaprove split of 28/72. The numbers I've seen are more like 45/51. He has a problem with elderly voters and independents, but there's plenty of time to turn that around.

I love how he balanced the budget by screwing public teachers. I can't wait to let the insurance companies have 15 percent more. It's much less than 19 percent our major medical policies went up this year. All things considered, a fine governor. I'm now ready for the 700,000 jobs to be created.

I think it's about time teachers get a raise, but not if we have to raise taxes to do so. 71 billion is a very reasonable budget. The state is under major stress right now due to the housing downturn - a lot of people are out of work. Anyone with a good job should consider themselves fortunate.

The employed should be more concerned with the policies in Washington and the FED right now because the income they make is experiencing inflationary pressure and wage growth is stagnant. For this you can give thanks to the "save Wall Street" mentality of the last and current administrations.

The teachers (and other FRS covered employees) are now suing the state. Seems that none of the 'pension reform' money is dedicated to propping up FRS and since it's going into the general fund instead, they feel it's an income tax on their wages:

Granted as an FRS participant, I've got skin in the game, but I think they've got a very good point there. If you're going to claim to the public that said action is for preserving my retirement plan, then said money should actually be going toward that goal.

Which when we were in Tally talking to the local legislators only 1 said that it was going into the general fund.

There is no doubt it should not go into the general fund. It is not only a mistake on Scott's part but the legissature as well.

The "contribution" is nothing more than a backdoor income tax on government employees. We should all be concerned because once the government has their fot in the door they never stop.

If the 3% isn't going toward employee retirement, then you're right, IW, its nothing but a tax and should be repealed or changed for its intended purpose. I, and my wife, paid into our state retirement fund and thought nothing about it.

It's a little tricky- according to the St Pete Times, the 3% IS going to the Florida Retirement system, but it just replaces money that the state used to pay. So, it's sort of a movement of funds (money being extremely fungible, after all). The 3% is being used to free up $1B for the state to use elsewhere.

That is the way politicians trick us. The reason the employees had to start "contributing" was the system was in trouble. Only I understand that the system is 100% funded before the "contributions." So they cut 3% off the state payment, stick it back in the general fund to use elsewhere and claim they have "saved" the retirement system. Nothing but lies, lies and more lies.

Right, so the FRS basically gets the same amount of money - if it was in trouble, I am not sure how this "saves" it.

It does save the lawmakers from having to raise taxes elsewhere, and allows them to put in those corporate tax cuts they are all wild about.

What I don't understand is some of my fellow conservatives crowing about what is basically a tax increase on a segment of the population. Everyone loves taxes as long as they are on someone else. I just hate taxes period.
