I was initially, I thought maybe y'all went by way of Atlanta for some reason. As many times as I have been down 65, I didn't know Athens was right off the interstate, I thought you still had a few miles to go. But what do I know, I have never been there.

we have also stayed in decatur alabama, which was way off the interstate so we are staying in athens again.

Thanks y'all...it has been a blue winter and I can tell I am ready. I have been a cleaning machine...including going through the piles of sh...uh, papers that have accumulated. It feels so good to have gotten so much done before I leave!!! I am smiling at the thought of driving 12 (or 11 1/2, right, skunk?) and ending up back at home!!!!

Let me offer an alternative itinerary. Not sure where Ms. Kitty is in SOWAL, but if it is near the west end of 30-A, going the Mid-Bay route is longer (time and mile-wise). We are in Sandestin and the quickest route for us is to take the Garcon Bridge exit just beyond Escambia bay and then take 98 thru Navarre, Fort Walton and Destin. It can be slow, but you save many miles from going way northeast thru Crestview.
