Hey, all, I know that you guys like to keep it light and funn on the forum, which I'm all for, but I just wanted to add a really serious point on here. I promised my friend Julie I would spread the word and this seemed like the most efficient way possible. So I'll dive right in.
In January, a friend of mine from high school, Julie, gave birth to her second child, a girl named Aaeleigh Grace. Aaeleigh was severely premature and died two hours after her birth. It is yet unclear as to what causes premature births and organizations such as the March of Dimes are doing vital work to find out why a woman can experience a normal pregnancy and then go into labour prematurely. Julie and her family have set up a team for the Walk America that is held by the March for Dimes every year. Proceeds go into researching premature births. Please, read the letter from Julie that's below and watch the video she's set up. It'll give you a face to a very real problem. Also, the final link gives you a chance to donate to the March of Dimes in memory of Aaeleigh. Every dollar helps the world come closer to being able to understand and prevent premature births.
Thank you!

As everyone knows we're walking for the March of Dimes Walk America.
I'm asking you PLEASE pass this video (along with the link below it) on to other people you know. We need to get the word out and we'd love your support.
Thank you SO much to those who have generously donated to the March of Dimes already in memory of Aaeleigh...

AugustInTransit. What an absolutely beautiful video and tribute to your friend's baby. So sad. And so absolutely beautiful -- I have never seen a tribute to a baby who passed away. The photos and the words that accompanied the photos were stunning. I also liked the photo of the parents at the end -- they seem young, hopeful, and determined to make a difference through their loss. And they will. And that little angel who was destined to have such a short time on earth was lucky to be born to those parents. Thanks for sharing and I'll be supporting the March of Dimes.

AIT: this is absolutely beautiful. it seems the parents truly made the most of every moment with their tiny daughter. the photos are so touching. she was "too beautiful for this earth.."
thanks for sharing this. the march of dimes is an organization that I've supported many times in the past, and you've reminded me to continue to support their mission.
The March of Dimes mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.

I am so glad you posted this. Not only is it a beautiful tribute, but it has helped me in a small way.
Good friends of ours lost their baby last week after learning that at 20 weeks in utero, it had severe, unsurmountable defects. We didn't really know what to say or do but we thought we ought to do something. Now I know! We will make a donation in their baby's name to the March of Dimes.
I had forgotten all about this worthwhile organization. This video really drives home how much it is needed. Thanks again AIT. And so sorry for your friends.

Thanks guys, I'll send your comments Julie's way.
She's obviously devistated, but she's one of those people that takes strength in knowing that she can help others avoid what she has gone through.
Thanks so much!!! I love you guys.

I was able to view it today...a beautiful tribute! I cried for their loss and I grieve for them. The photos with the ring shows just how tiney she was. The loss of a child, no matter what age, must be the most unimaginable heartache known to man.

While she was small in my arms, I couldn't help but think about Aaeleigh and the ring that she could fit her whole hand into... she was so tiny.

I know, it's amazing how small babies are, even the ones that make it to full term. The little girl I had made the thread about a few weeks ago (Lilith Lynn that was born on Valentine's Day) is so cute!! I'm hanging out with her and her parents right now and I'm still not over how tiny she is. It freaks me out everytime I hold her because I feel I'm going to break her or something. I think that may be because of the whole thing about her not being able to hold up her head.
But yeah, Julie's being really strong about having lost Aaeleigh but like I said she's using it to help out other people. I didn't really know about premature births before I found out about Aaeleigh and I had thought that medicine and science was so far advanced that premies could be saved. Apparently not.
But it's like most diseases and things like that. No one ever really hears about it, so there are many things that most people think that are completely untrue.
