One time, at Band Camp...

I finally saw American Pie tonight. A good friend brought it to dinner, and justified the "viewing" by saying that since we were the mothers of boys, we needed to see this movie. She was right (I think). Poor Will- I'm going to laugh at him all through high school now! Now I need to see the other 2 American Pie movies....:shock:

I haven't seen the movie either. You'll have to give me the synopsis. I tried to watch Napolean Dynomite and couldn't stick with it for more than 5 minutes. Is this similar do you think??

i am one of the weirdos who thought this movie was terrible. that was 90 mins of my life i will never get back (or however long it was) we liked something about mary much better. of course one of my favorite movies is porky's and of course napoleon dynamite...

I had a bunch of college friends who went to high school with the screenwriter. There are a ton of in-jokes in the film about East Grand Rapids High School (across town from where I went), the area around it, high school rivals, and Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp that I can pick up on. There are also allegedly some characters loosely based on real people.

And save for making Lake Michigan look like a duck pond, the movie actually ends up looking something like the place it was based on, even though it was entirely filmed in California.
