Only 13 more days of working for Whitey, aka- Uncle Sam, the Feds, the Man, etc.

:clap_1: It's been a long 3.5 months, and I am ready to give Uncle Sam the Take-this-job-and-shove-it finger.

If you are in the 30% tax rate, 30% of your work for the year goes to the Federal Gov't. That equates to four months of the year. So, you can say that you work the first four months of the year for the Federal Gov't. ;-)

Well with the Pelosi gang in Congress you can expect an attempt to move this date outward by another 30 days. So how about working 5 months out of the year to fund all those welfare programs back up?

If you pay state income taxes, you probably already work 5 months for the gov't. Add sales taxes and property taxes to that and you probably work five and a half months or more, all for the gov't, but we do get benefits like paved roads, government schools (which might be debatable whether they are detriments or benefits), and fire trucks.

You’re absolutely right on that. I have gone through the percentages on the various taxes and have found that my wife and I pay 47% of our total gross income to one government entity or the other. So I guess we probably work nearly 6 months of the year for the government. I think if all Americans took an analytic look at their total tax bill they would suffer sticker shock. The fact is people usually take a look at the Federal tax burden this time of year, shake their head and then go on. As you said, add the rest of it in: Federal, State, Sales, Property, Excise taxes, and FICA, Medicare, etc. Now congress wants to do away with the tax reforms, which included repeal of the marriage tax penalty.

As I mentioned in my previous post: get ready to pay more!!!
