Be careful on I-85 south of Atlanta. It's a nightmare (and dangerous due to closed lanes, narrowed lanes, no shoulders, construction vehicles jumping out in front of you going 30 mph, and frustrated drivers with road rage) due to road construction from the Fairburn exit to Hogansville.:yikes:

 I'm coming from Duluth, am I gonna have to travel that way? Going to be leaving mid ATL about 3 ish. I am already having mild panics attacks thinking about driving over the 331 bridge. Never drove over it before.
Now you got me freaked out like this is a warning or something. :sosad:

You will be going that way. You'll be fine. You get plenty of warning that it's ahead. Just slow down like the signs tell you to.

Yes, you will be coming that way but don't worry, I drive it EVERYDAY. There is construction and the speed limit is 60. You can go 75 with no problem but any faster is getting dangerous around all the exits. Mid Atl, where is that?

Wow, Duluth to Sowal, what is that 22+ hours?

The 331 bridge is nothing to worry about - continuous concrete roadway w/ concrete barriers on the side, not an open trestle or steel like some of the freaky midwest bridges. It just has a slight grade so that it gets tall enough in the middle for boats to go under.

Beep, Beep, Beep....you've never driven over the 331 bridge! How is that possible? Never been to Freeport either!

OH, it is something to worry about in my opinion. You must at all times watch for the drivers going the opposite direction. The lack of no middle dividers makes it one scary and dangerous bridge. IMHO.

While you need to exercise caution on 331 because there is 2 way traffic, I consider it a breeze and nowhere near as stress inducing as driving on a open metalwork road surface w/ nothing between me and a several hundred foot drop into a river but a metal fence.
