I really liked Patrick Swayze the actor and he seemed like a decent guy. My mom died of pancreatic cancer and it's a tough one. She lived 5 months after diagnosis. It's almost impossible to beat, but a very small percentage of people seem to beat it at least for a while.

Steve Jobs of Apple had it about 5 years ago and he said he was one of the minority of people who have a kind that isn't deadly. My heart goes out to those of you who have family members/friends who get diagnosed with this disease.

Although Patrick Swayze movies are easily joked about, I find his memorable movie roles to be very good memories of my youth on up to the hysterical SNL Chipendales skit. We love you Patrick Swayze. Who can forget The Outsiders, Red Dawn, Dirty Dancing, Road HouseGhost, Point Break, and even Donnie Darko. Plus he can dance like he made a deal with the Devil. Wolverines!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Damn, that's sad news. As to those who ever made fun of anything about his roles, it goes without saying that when you combine talent with good looks, it will intimidate some and that person will be a target. But he was one hell of an actor.

Yes, years ago Wolverine and I just bought Point Break. I've watched that movie maybe 20 times and every time I see a scene on t.v. I swear I'll just watch it till commercial break but can never seem to tear myself away. I always wait until the 'next scene' and then can't stop. And he was great in Ghost. A man's man, he would have been a neat guy to hang out with I'm sure.

It reminds us though, how fragile life can be. Bless!

Also co-wrote and performed "She's Like The Wind" from Dirty Dancing.

The very famous scene where Johnny and Baby are practicing their dancing and they are crawling towards each other on the floor wasn't intended to be part of the film; they were just messing around and were warming up to do the real scene, but the director liked it so much he kept in the film.
