Which chef would you root for? It seems my beloved Tony has gone and pissed off Paula Deen.

Tony. I love his show and books, and while he is quick to criticize he is also quick to apologize when he IS wrong (see Emeril).
Plus he is far harder on himself than anyone else.

She's cute but she had darker hair and luscious lips.

Here's another take from one of my favorite guilty pleasures. Warning: a tad bit irreverent.

I know many folks think Paula is the greatest. She is not a trained chef, she's a cook . I got so tired of watching her taste food with a spoon from the pot and putting the spoon back in the pot. Just can't watch her.

I hear ya. I'm kinda middle of the road where she's concerned. I used to like her more, but now....eh. I do however, still use some of her recipes and they are always a hit. She does not have the same effect on me that she does Tony evidently.

Just watched DD's trailer on here and have to say that I was getting a little tired of Paula Deen - until I saw this. I have always loved Anthony Bourdain and No Reservations is a great book but I have new respect for Paula. She was very gracious in her interview and offered to cook for him? My admiration of her is renewed and I am going to start watching her when I can for support. This has made me realize the best thing about her - she has never claimed to be anything other than what she is! By the way Nigella Lawson is wonderful and I cannot stand "food snobs".

Tony is an a$$ and I love him. How wonderful to listen to someone who can think, write, and speak well. Oh, and he knows food and wine. And then you throw in a bit of cultural awareness.
I write, I majored in Anthropology, I married a chef, so maybe I am bias but the food network people I detest include the ones Tony takes on AND Bobby Flay!

I'll take southern recipes and down to earth charisma any day over a "worldly" know it all and maybe done it all!

Bourdain is a bully and a blow hard--kinda like the food version of Bill O'Reilly.
