How do I insert a photo in a post? When I click on the "Insert Image" tab, the box asks for the file name, but when I give that, I don't get an image, I get the file name in brackets within the post. :bang:

When you click on reply to post, you can scroll down below the input box. Under "Additional Options," look for "attach files," and click on "manage attachments." You can browse your computer for the file to upload. (It will accept only one at a time rather than the five files it appears to give you.) After finding the file you want to post, click on "upload." When the file uploads, it will show it. You will not be able to see it in your post, but it will be attached to the bottom of your post.
Let's see the pic.

It seems a lot of you guys attach pics when you could just hotlink to them. Attach a pic or file if it is only on your computer. Hotlink when it is posted somewhere on the internet.

Hotlink when it is posted somewhere on the internet.Yes, but then those who are computer savvy know who you are and everything about you if you give your personal URLs (not that I haven't divulged too much info in the past - LOL). There are too many lurkers out there for me to feel comfortable with them seeing the URLs of my websites. I guess I could pay for web hosting separate from the ones that totally reveal my identity, but I'd rather not pay money when my two sites are provided for free by my employer and by my ISP.
Bottom line: I'd just rather take up space on your server, Kurt. :floor:

There are three interfaces in your user CP so the method varies depending on which you're using. In full wysiwyg mode you click the picture icon
and enter the address of the picture. Each method puts the address in image tags. You could also type it all out.

There are a lot of free hosting sites like http://photobucket.com.I gave up on those a long time ago. They always inserted a bunch of crapola on my site. I'll give this one a try. Thanks.
Ohhhhh, I'll bet it's just for photos, not for uploading websites. That'd work. I'll try to carve out some time to check it out this weekend. I am so snowed under at work that I am totally fried and hardly have time to go to the bathroom. That's pretty bad.

I think Landlocked has a device to help you out.

The "Lady J"
You could just keep it under your desk or hang it on your chair.

There are a lot of free hosting sites like http://photobucket.com.I just signed up for this, but it said I'd have to pay for photos over 256 kb.
