Particularly interesting is the article:

Do local bouts of cold weather mean global warming is over? No. Read more to learn why cold snaps + global warming do add up.

I hear it all the time - "This cold winter proves there is no such thing as global warming."

Cold snaps and bouts of natural cooling that could last years are expected naturally even as the climate continues on a long-term warming trend, forced by man-made emissions.

Great read - thanks for posting, as usual. You come up w/the best stuff Kurt!!

The really interesting thing that many overlook is that no model of the climate (including the AGW folks models) actually accurately models the real climate for the past few thousand years when run retrograde. It becomes much more convenient for them to simply deny that the Medieval Warming Period or the Maunder Minimum ever happened. (Nope, those Vikings never lived in Greenland....?)

Also until climatologists take fully into account things like solar activity and the Pacific Decadal Oscillation into account their models are woefully incomplete.

Interestingly enough, reason is now prevailing and many of the so-called "Climate Skeptics" are now called "Climate Auditors". From the post "On the Credibility of Climate Research"

So who are the climate auditors? They are technically educated people, mostly outside of academia. Several individuals have developed substantial expertise in aspects of climate science, although they mainly audit rather than produce original scientific research. They tend to be watchdogs rather than deniers; many of them classify themselves as ?lukewarmers?. They are independent of oil industry influence. They have found a collective voice in the blogosphere and their posts are often picked up by the mainstream media. They are demanding greater accountability and transparency of climate research and assessment reports.

If you can't build a model that corresponds to known and documented inputs and results, how accurate can your model be for the future?

There may be a problem...there may not be. Until "science" without an agenda is actually used, we'll never know.

The worst possible thing we can do is throw solutions that may or may not work at a problem that may, or may not exist.

What difference does it make anyway. It's going to be all over December 21,2012 anyway.

Ice, it's a solid investment that can be converted into a liquid asset.

I find it ironic that global warming promoters make the claim that major cold snaps and decade long halts in global tempurature rise are "ignorable anomolies", while major hurricanes and warm summers are proof man-made global warming is occuring.

The hitch is that the man-caused catastrophic global warming theory is dead, and it needs to be buried. Evidence had been mounting for years that there were problems with the global warming model; most telling was that the globe refused to warm up. Carbon emissions continued apace, but the world began cooling. This is why true believers abandoned the "global warming" brand name and tried to shift the debate to the more ambiguous label "climate change," which is something the rest of us like to refer to as "weather."

Climate Change: A Warming World
SURFACE TEMPERATURE RECORDS:
POLICY DRIVEN DECEPTION?
by Joseph D?Aleo & Anthony Watts | January 29, 2010

1. Instrumental temperature data for the pre-satellite era (1850-1980) have been so widely, systematically, and unidirectionally tampered with that it cannot be credibly asserted there has been any significant ?global warming? in the 20th century.
2. All terrestrial surface-temperature databases exhibit very serious problems that render them useless for determining accurate long-term temperature trends.
3. All of the problems have skewed the data so as greatly to overstate observed warming both regionally and globally

Climategate U-turn as scientist at centre of row admits: There has been no global war

By Jonathan Petre
Last updated at 5:12 PM on 14th February 20

The academic at the centre of the ‘Climategate’ affair, whose raw data is crucial to the theory of climate change, has admitted that he has trouble ‘keeping track’ of the information.

Colleagues say that the reason Professor Phil Jones has refused Freedom of Information requests is that he may have actually lost the relevant papers.

Professor Jones told the BBC yesterday there was truth in the observations of colleagues that he lacked organisational skills, that his office was swamped with piles of paper and that his record keeping is ‘not as good as it should be’.

The data is crucial to the famous ‘hockey stick graph’ used by climate change advocates to support the theory.

Professor Jones also conceded the possibility that the world was warmer in medieval times than now – suggesting global warming may not be a man-made phenomenon.

And he said that for the past 15 years there has been no ‘statistically significant’ warming.

A summary of what I posted

Why not summarize in you own words or do you have any??

The best way that I can explain it to you is, "Global Warming is a Hoax." Carbon dioxide is used by plants during photosynthesis to make sugars, which may either be consumed in respiration or used as the raw material to produce other organic compounds needed for plant growth and development.

These Globalist are wanting you to pay them to breathe. It is ingenious if you think about it, most people think that Carbon dioxide is a poison. You will start to see that they (those wanting you to give them money for breathing) are going to back away from calling it Global Warming and will quickly go to calling it Climate Change.

The cost of this carbon tax that is going to be placed on us, will for all intents and purposes, enslave our children

The benchmark report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) said that a worldwide increase in hurricane-force storms since 1970 was probably linked to global warming.

It followed some of the most damaging storms in history such as Hurricane Katrina, which hit New Orleans and Hurricane Dennis which hit Cuba, both in 2005.

The IPCC added that humanity could expect a big increase in such storms over the 21st century unless greenhouse gas emissions were controlled.

The warning helped turn hurricanes into one of the most iconic threats of global warming, with politicians including Ed Miliband, the energy secretary, and Al Gore citing them as a growing threat to humanity.

The cover of Gore’s newest book, Our Choice, even depicts an artist's impression of a world beset by a series of huge super-hurricanes as a warning of what might happen if carbon emissions continue to rise.

However, the latest research, just published in Nature Geoscience, paints a very different picture.

It suggests that the rise in hurricane frequency since 1995 was just part of a natural cycle, and that several similar previous increases have been recorded, each followed by a decline.

Looking to the future, it also draws on computer modelling to predict that the most likely impact of global warming will be to decrease the frequency of tropical storms, by up to 34% by 2100.

UN's climate link to hurricanes in doubt - Times Online

Interesting. I think this just goes to show we really don't know much about climate change (cause or effect). So it makes sense to me that we should tread carefully when considering legislation to combat these changes. Knee jerk reactions may well do more damage than good.
