Title A MOMENT RARE LIKE THIS
Author J. Animal Williams
Watching from the balcony
Inspired by the dew laden mist
Breathing peaceful air inspires
A moment rare like this
The horizon undistinguished
The skyline wrapped in dissolve
And those bold lines of earth
Swallowed by the fog
Enter frantic scurried searching
Of the piper on the beach
Peering, pecking, picking
For rewards within his reach
Then a sole drifting seagull
Absorbed in swoop of flight
His tumbling acrobatics
A display of winged delight
While the ocean heaves so gently
It's lap just barely heard
And the air just above it
Floating like that bird
But where are the people?
Who daily tread the beach
There search thus abandoned
For a better form of peace?
It then becomes apparent
Those who wander like the fish
Pursue with all their trekking
A moment rare like this
