I wanted our SoWal community to know about Ralph DeLong, who needs as much prayer and positive thoughts as we can give him right now.
Ya gotta love Ralph- he was posting on Facebook from the Sacred Heart hospital, where he had gone with chest pains. He has been taken to UAB Hospital because his heart is only working at 15% and his friend is updating on his FB page and said they are looking at the possibility of an artificial heart.
I met Ralph in fall of 2006, right after we moved here. That summer, we had been here on vacation with Chick Magnet and his family, and they needed to shoot an audition video for their daughter while they were here, but did not have a video camera. We posted on SoWal, and Ralph came through and loaned his camera to total strangers. I met him after we moved here in the fall, when I took him one of Kat's Key Lime pies to thank him for his kindness.
Ralph is a really sweet guy and needs every bit of prayer, karma, finger-crossing, love, and good thoughts we can send his way. Please do whatever you do to uplift people that need it- cause Ralph needs us right now.

Ralph has a friend keeping his FB page updated- so here is the latest- he was scheduled for surgery at noon today to get an artificial heart, but are now waiting until Monday hoping he will be stronger for the surgery. Wow, I knew he had some heart issues, but had no idea it was this bad. Ralph deserves every bit of help he can get, he's a very sweet guy.
