Well, I didn't watch the Super Bowl, but it looks like Prince should have been singing "Purple Rain." I've got two words for you -- Hubba, Hubba.

Sounds like you have an inch on Prince, and with that fancy boot you have, you are probably three inches taller than Prince.

Kurt,
Thank you for those great photos!
My dancing dream was to be on stage dancing with Prince or Bruce Springsteen! Totally different music and singers, but truly, no one can touch the two of them putting on a show!
Last night I picked up my son (who weighs about 55 lbs.) threw him in the air, danced until he bit his tongue, got the ice out, put him on the couch, and got back up until the last song was over. I know he thought his mom was crazy but hey, sometimes feet just got to move!
Smiling JOe: It was Purple Rain in Miami!

I believe he is 5'2". I love his songs When Doves Cry, Let's Go Crazy and 1999. Great stuff! And he hasn't changed as to aging. I am sure he is near my age. He is too cool.

What was up with the Aunt Jemima head wrap? He looked like he should be on a syrup bottle.

Well, I'm glad somebody liked it... my friends and I are all far too young to have any appreciation for Prince. We were actually quite bummed. I wish they would go with doing a mix of old and not so old artists in an attempt to entertain the younger crowd as well.

Lol, I don't mean everyone else is old. I just mean, to really enjoy Prince, you probably had to be around during his peak. You have to relate it to something nostalgic (the concerts, high school, etc...), kwim? I might have been in Kindergarten during his peak.

I think the year with U2 was great. I wouldn't mind seeing a legend brought in with someone new like The Fray to mix it up a bit and attempt to appeal to a larger age range.

I knew what you meant.

But that is one of the things I love about this board. I now have friends in all age ranges!!

I'm just afraid they're not going to do younger acts anymore because of what happened with the last one (J Timberlake/J Jackson). Since then it's been three in a row of acts that IMO really focus on a much more mature crowd.

Notice the change in production. Now that they've ditched MTV out of fear and probably Disney for the same reason, if they stick with this new producer, we'll be seeing Hair Bands next!

You are ageless in SoWal land!!! :clap_1:

I have found that many younger people reach way back in music and find genres they like. I am always amazed at the artists my children are listening to.

I thought Prince was terrific. I was smiling and shaking it the entire time. I love that song about the beret(?) raspberry(?)....wished he'd played that. It is he!! losing one's mind. :bang:

hey old farts: isn't it amazing to have watched a musician like Prince become a legend? reading this thread, and remembering all of his hits makes me realize that we've grown up with this guy, and watched all this. I guess I was in my mid-late twenties when I was really rocking to his music.
