Hey fellow locals. I have a question. We all have family and friends who come to our little slice of paradise to vacation. The problem is most of us have to earn a living or have other things to do. Should we make time and travel to our visitors or should they who are on vacation ask us when and where would be best for us since we are not. Let them make the effort right?

Oh boy is that a good question for locals! We're also inundated with close family and friends who want to stay with us often, at their convenience. This becomes a hardship for some of us with work and family schedules. Learning to say no sometimes is hard.

We just let people do their own thing and tell them in advance that we have to work and can play at certain points.

Same here. But when we play host, which is quite often, we're obligated to be good hosts while keeping up with work and school. While they do their own thing mostly, we still feel obligated to visit, cook, entertain, etc. Hello beach life.
