Rachael's Accident

Most of you may not know Rachael, but she is often seen dancing to the sounds of Dread Clampitt and Waco Ramblers. Last Wednesday, Rachael was in a serious car wreck, and she is suffering from some damages. She says to tell everyone that she says hello and that she misses you. I visited her in the hospital in Ft Walton Beach this morning, and she looks very good, even with a busted up leg. Both the Tibia and Fibula were broken in her right leg and she has a rod holding them together and a bunch of staples in the leg. (No, she isn't trying to be like Steve O in Jackass: The Movie.) Her leg is bandaged from just above the knee down to her foot. She still has some swelling in that leg and is in some pain. Mostly, she is stir crazy and wishes that she was hula hooping instead of sitting in a bed.

She is hoping to get out of the hospital today, but will need a whole bunch of lovin' and a little time to heal. Please send some well wishes and love her way.

Wishing you a speedy recovery and healing process. You will be dancing the night away before you know it. Remember, you can still dance with crutches or a wheelchair. Some of the best dancers I know are in wheelchairs. ;-)

I wish I had taken my camera to the Red Bar this evening. If I had done so, I would have taken a photo of Rachael dancing behind her walker, to the tunes of Dread Clampitt. The staples are out, and most of the swelling is gone, and Rachael was going to try to hula hoop tonight. She had the biggest smile on her face when she stood up to dance. Currently, she cannot place her full weight on her right leg, but she will be doing so in no time if she keeps improving at this rate. She says that her legs are a bit week from sitting around so much for the last few weeks, but she will be dancing without a walker in no time. There is one more surgery ahead of her, to remove the screws, and that should be around Halloween or her birthday, which soon follows.

So, the next time you see Rachael, please give her a hug and welcome her back!

We love you Rachael.
