I just want to get my 1:00 surgery to remove half of my facial burn scar, I received back in April, over with. It's not that big but it will take 2 surgeries to get rid of the burn scar because it is on the bridge of my nose. It would pull my eyes too much. That numbing shot is probably gonna really suck. I'm gonna have to meditate of floating in the gulf. Ladies please stay away from women wielding lasers that really don't know WTF they're doing. It's called Dermacare, don't go there. I'm sure lots of other laser places are popping up everywhere becuse they aren't regulated by any medical board, even when they claim to be physician-supervised. :sosad:

Oh, my...and so close to your eyes...that is really scary....do they have you wear goggles when doing facial laser surgery?

I was talking to a friend at work and she had some spots removed from her hands..cosmetic..and she said a tech did it....I 'm guessing the docs are having the techs trained to do this.

I was guessing the docs trained them too, since their web page pictured like 20 docs, but after the nurse gave me a 2nd -3rd degree burn, no doctor was to be found. I had to go back to a doc I had worked with some over at Vandy, a facial plastic surgeon. It took 6 weeks just to fully close then i had to stay out of the sun all summer long. What a bust!
She did have me wear goggles but it was under the googles, the red spot she was going to zap, so had me just keep my eyes closed as she zapped me 3 times in a row but evidently didn't recalibrate the dern laser so it felt like a hot curling iron to the bridge of my nose. Just as my knees relaxed after the first zap she zapped me twice more in the same spot. I guess I'm probably very lucky I'm not blind as i also had my soft contacts in. Dermacare sucks!

:DThanks gull. It went grayt cuz he didn't hurt me and it doesn't look that bad i guess considering. I'm getting so used to people staring at it. :blink:I put a bunch of numbing cream on under a bandaid before i got there. Actually it's been kinda numb since the burn in that area. I just didn't know once he got to surgerizin'. I only felt a pinch and then the stitches pullin' thru but no pain really. It doesn't look half bad actually. He's takin' more, hopefully the rest in 8 weeks. I should be so happy, it's not like it's cancer or something life-threatening. I am thankful.
