Random Thoughts

I don't suppose this is a random thought, but then again, it could be. We really need a "bragging" thread.

My son just found out today that he was named in our high school district as finalist in an instrumental concerto competition. He was the only one chosen out of his high school. All of the finalists (about 5 - 6 from the 6 area high schools) will perform at a recital in January, playing their concerto piece, judged, and one will be named a winner. They all receive a scholarship. But it's not so much the $$, it's the final pay off from 6 months of hard work. Whew!

Heck, I would be proud of both the honor and the dough too! Tell him the sowal fam is so proud of his hard work.

good idea, i am going to let my non-stop barking dogs in. they love me. my neighbors not so much right now

I seriously doubt it's much money. This is just high school. It's more of the achievement listed on the resume and college app when the time comes.

Congrats to your son and you. That is big honor and his years of hard work are paying off. Let us know what happens in January!!

I'm getting all geared up for my first day at my new job tomorrow-- all this week I'm shadowing the teachers I'm replacing. It's always nerve-wracking to start a new job, especially after being self-employed for so long. But it's also terribly exciting, and the cadets have to call me "ma'am" or "captain..."
