I don't suppose this is a random thought, but then again, it could be. We really need a "bragging" thread.
My son just found out today that he was named in our high school district as finalist in an instrumental concerto competition. He was the only one chosen out of his high school. All of the finalists (about 5 - 6 from the 6 area high schools) will perform at a recital in January, playing their concerto piece, judged, and one will be named a winner. They all receive a scholarship. But it's not so much the $$, it's the final pay off from 6 months of hard work. Whew!

Yay!!!
On a related random note (pun certainly intended) I went to get my uniform for teaching today. I'm rully excited...
Jane. Hey, at least you don't have to worry about what to wear everyday! With a nod to sckristi, here's how I'm feeling:
I'm getting all geared up for my first day at my new job tomorrow-- all this week I'm shadowing the teachers I'm replacing. It's always nerve-wracking to start a new job, especially after being self-employed for so long. But it's also terribly exciting, and the cadets have to call me "ma'am" or "captain..."
Congratulations!!!!!That's awesome.
I am picturing GIJane. Hey, at least you don't have to worry about what to wear everyday!
Have a great first day Captain! :::saluting:::![]()
