It was the snowbirds last night that set there kitchen on fire. They acted indignant (sp?) when I explained that they would be responsible for the charges. Then they complained that the FREE temporary accomadations were not the same.

I am really flipped out. Today I got a call from the family of one of my friends. Her son-in-law was killed by a roadside bomb in Iraq yesterday. There were multiple casualties, but it won't be on the news until all of the next-of-kin have been notified.
Her daughter and son-in-law just had their first anniversary last week. He left for Iraq in November. So tragic.

What's so awful for the family is that the body won?t be here for a week. That?s agonizing. I know because when my Daddy dropped dead unexpectedly of a heart attack when Mom just happened to be visiting me at Tulane my freshman year, we just couldn?t believe that it was true until we saw his body. Thankfully, the airlines bumped some people so we could get on the next flight out of New Orleans to Atlanta. And it was probably only 7 hours between when we heard the bad news and when we saw him. I can?t imagine waiting a week to view the body (and that assumes he is recognizable due to the injuries). When we got back home, I just slept constantly ? I kept thinking it was all a nightmare and that when I woke up, everything would be okay.

Today is my official last day for my part time job. After today I'm free to sowal full-time. I worked at home and at the office for the past 5 years. I'm going into the office today to turn in my keys and finish one last task. I'm 90%happy and 10%sad. I'm going to look for something else but will wait until the end of summer to do that. I will most likely be with the school system.
