Hey guys-
I havent read around the board, so this may be old news, but did you know that tomorrow night (saturday mar. 3), the full moon will rise over the water during a total lunar eclipse? And because it will already be in total eclipse, the moon will be deep red, with a corona! It will rise exactly at the time of sunset....how convenient ;-) ... bring the tripod! This should be stunning!
We've got a gig tonight in ATL, but I think we're going to forego a full night sleep, grab the camera and dog and boogie on down to check it out. Here's hoping for some clear skies...

The sun is setting at 5:46 EST, and the total eclipse is between 5:54 and 6:38 pm. Weather forecast is for partly cloudy, but fairly warm here, so I am still gonna break out the telescope.
We planned a Total Recall Par-tay. ;-)

I sure am excited that there is going to be a show with the moon tommorow night. I am just a little dissapointed that it likes to have a Carona and not a Natural Light!

RO, you can try with a telescope. :idontno: The brightness of the lunar eclipse no one can predict anyway since it depends on how much atmospheric dust there is on any given day, so with a telescope you might get past the clouds and see the eclipse.
We have a Meade, and we learned when we first got it that just because you have a clear evening, it doesn't always make for the best viewing depending on this dust.

If we get any pictures from Missouri will post, but I'm sure there will be good ones from somewhere. The best thing would be to see with your own eyes, even better over the ocean.
Why am I here, as Homer would say, "doh"

uh huh!The beachcam hasn't updated since 7:36 AM on March 1. It needs rebooting. So we can all moon it with no fear or repercussion or embarrassment.
