http://www.ksdk.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=110821I was just about to post this! What's absolutely mind-blowing is that he was found with Shawn Hornbeck, missing for 4-1/2 years!!! I'm trying not to think about what they might have been through, especially Shawn.

I was just getting on to post the same thing. Sean Hornbeck has been missing for four years.....found alive today !!!! and Ben Ownby missing since Monday found in the same apartment, we just can't belive this !!!!!!! I'm watching on tv right now......the St. Louis area is in shock, and very happy that they were both found alive. Sean Hornbecks family hasn't seen their son in four years................they thought he was killed.

I am so very thankful this had a happy outcome. I had been praying that he would be found safe. He is the same age as my son, and I have alway's worried about my son getting off the school bus right in front of our house and someone getting him. I am just so glad that this story ended happily. :clap_1:

So amazing. I'm anxious to hear where they've been this whole time. Amazing to think Sean Hornbeck would have been an hour and a half away from his family all of this time!

Wow.OL, I was just wondering about this--the kidnapper had 2 jobs and had worked for 20 years at the pizza place, rarely missing work. In the early days after his kidnapping, I wonder what kept Shawn from escaping or trying to contact people while the kidnapper was at work? He's apparently said he knew people were searching for him.

Pea we are all thinking the same thing.......... I'm sure we will find out more details in the following days. One neighbor said shawn would play baseball outside
they thought he was the kidnappers son. I don't know how any of you feel about this, but that man should be shot. There is no rehabilitaion for a sicko like that. just my honest opinion, god knows what terrible things that poor boy went through....that man was a convicted child sex offender.

sounds vaguely like the elizabeth smart thing where she was living like an hour from home. she could even hear people calling her name when they were searching for her...very strange.

I was at the grocery store when I heard the news. As I was walking up and down the aisles I kept hearing shoppers talking about Shawn Hornback. I kept hearing "Oh my God!" and some were crying. I was afraid to ask, fearing the worst. As I got to the front of the store, I heard the woman in front of me talking to the checker. I asked her what was going on. With tears streaming down her face, she said that they found Ben Owensby, the little boy who'd been kidnapped three days ago, and along with him they found 15 year old Shawn Hornback! I hesitantly asked if they were alive, and when she said yes, I felt a shiver go through me and suddenly my eyes welled up. This is such an unbelieveable story...truly a miracle. I saw the boys this morning on the local news as their parents were being interviewed....they both have such sweet faces! Little Ben was smiling from ear to ear; Shawn was a bit more "cool", just as you'd expect a teenager to be. But every so often he would break out in a grin and reach over to hug his mom. Thank God this has a happy ending! I'm anxious to hear the details, especially why he didn't try to escape. I would guess it must be a form of brainwashing. Shawn's step dad said that Shawn had told them that he'd even seen one of the benches that had been put up with Shawn's photo and info on it. There were two photos...one of 11 year old Shawn, and the other an age-accelerated image. His father said that Shawn had jokingly told them this morning that he was insulted by the age-accelerated image
At that, Shawn broke out in a big grin.:clap_1:
I guess we should never give up hope, even when it feels that all hope is gone!

Keep these families in your prayers!!! What an unbelievable ordeal these little boys have been through....it will be a process but thankfully it's VERY obvious that their parents are willing to do whatever it takes....
