We will be down there for 9 days, in two weeks. It's our third straight year along 30a. Looking for a few popular suggestions between Destin and PCB, preferably South Walton. We are staying near Gulf Place this year. Give me two favorites to dine, drink, hang out, etc, etc, and why they are special. Thanks!

The V is great. Great food. Great atmosphere. I give it V stars...get it? Five? V? Get it? Oh well...

It is that piercing wit!

V is great as is Whiskey Bravo, Cafe 30a and many others to the east on 30a. Unfortunately getting there from Gulf Place during spring break and mid summer is almost not worth the effort. We save that for all the other months and stick to the west end during maximum crowd weeks. By the way Mr Muscle since you asked we are from Grand Rapids

Very smart move. You have plenty of really good eating places in BMB. The people are very cordial and the food is wonderful. (Marie's, The Bowrey, Nick's, Mc Tighes) These are the ones I frequent and there are three or four others.

La Loba's in BMB.. For baked goodies, and delicious lunch to go. While you're there, do some shopping at For the Health of It, and rent bikes at Big Daddy's Bike Shop.

If you find yourself drifting toward Destin, I'd also suggest trying out a bit of the local Thai restaurant scene. I always liked Jasmine Thai over by Home Depot/Fresh Market, and Thai Basil by Destin Publix seems to be getting some good buzz.

In hindsight, after 11 years as a recently departed local, in no particular order:
Stinky's, Café 30A, La Loba, Bud and Alleys rooftop bar, Basmati.

I have recently discovered the fried green tomatoes at Graffiti in Baytowne. With crawfish and crabmeat in a garlic cream sauce. Wow!

If y'all would like the best smoked pork, come on by AL'S Smokehouse on Lynn Dr. We are a little off the beaten path and worth finding.
