BP Payment to Florida due to oil spill to be taken from the 8 counties affected and given to 23 counties... It appears Governor Scott is now trying to take over full control of the RESTORE process and BP funding that was to go to the 8 counties in the panhandle that suffered from the oil spill. It was my understanding the 8 counties in the panhandle would be the recipients, but not if this agreement takes place. Twenty-three counties will be in control and will voting on issue. We don’t have the votes in the panhandle. The discussion tomorrow at the courthouse, 8am, should be attended by everyone who has an interest in Walton County getting a fair shake in this deal. I’m sure there will be a lot of questions. No telling what the answers will be! I understand Commissioner Elect Bill Imfeld is a member of the group who put this together.
