Rumors recently heard near 30-A east end

Currently a CVS is going up in front of the Winn Dixie by Carillon Beach. I talked to the real estate man that worked on selling the property and he told me that TGI Fridays and Cracker Barrel was looking for land in that area near the beginning of 30-A. Just thought i would share.

I stood in line at Panera bread at Pier Park next to Karl Rove and talked to him for about 3 minutes or so. There might be some truth to that rumor.

I imagine their will be a few establishments wanting to move to the area of East 30-A and 98 since the long range plans have a a extension of 388 coming right to there.

...and you guys didn't believe me the other week when I talked about the future of hwy 98 and the chances of Cracker Barrel, Old Navy, etc coming in.

If they're really doing their research then it'll be in Bay County east of the Phillips Inlet bridge. Odds are better that the 388 extension will come through Water Sound. Also there's no telling what it would be called in Walton County since 388 is the county road number.

I asked one of the local TGIFridays district managers about this rumor. He said he has not heard anything about it but would get back to me. As an aside, he relayed frightening tales of the free happy hour buffet and snowbirds at the Destin location:lol:

Back to topic: 😀 We could use a few more dining options in and around Inlet Beach. I've been wondering when somebody's going to buy the old Jolly Roger property just east of the bridge and build something new (Hey Kurt, can we get a smilie that says, "Aaarrr, matey?").
