I got some yummy chocolate and caramel truffles sprinkled with sea salt recently. Sooo good!

Of course a Payday is pretty delish too. I heart sweet & salty!

Because they never satisfy me, I rarely eat sweets except for my after-dinner piece of Dove or a Dawson's yummy frozen yogurt whenever the surly staff decides to stay open late enough for us to have finished dinner.

I much prefer salty snacks, especially cheese and crackers.

Generally salty.
But combo is usually what I choose when a sweet is in order... like Paydays and 'member Fabrice's Chocolate-n-Sea salt cookies??

Oh Dune-Ahhh, how I long for those Chocolate and Sea Salt cookies! I've tried many times to re-create them. Not even close. :-(

Sadly, never had 'em. Decribe them. Surely we can figure this out.

'Just' chocolate cookies w/ sea salt sprinkled on top (probably when first out of the oven b/4 the cookies 'set'). The cookie was neither chewy nor crunchy...
moist yet not gooey, crumbledy but not crisp. Sort of like a flat brownie... but the drier cakey kind of brownie not the fudgy-sticky kind of brownie.
SHEILA... help me out here! I'm floundering! 😀

YEAH! Looking forward to the recipe 😀

DuneAhh you described them perfectly.

Bless You! Do you remember if they had chopped blanched almond slivers in them?

Recently... Bobbie Sue picked up a preformed perforated block of refrigerator cookie dough (the sort located next to the butter @ Publix). They were Double Fudge chocolate cookies of some brand we'd never heard of and now can't remember 🙂idontno: maybe Immaculata). They were delicious, not too sweet, and a pretty decent facsimile of Fabrice's.

This is going to drive me crazy like a tune.

Sweet most of the time especially cake as of late. I have gotten into cupcakes...BIG mistake.

I do enjoy saltine crackers covered with caramel and chocolate that has been baked. It is similar to toffee.

I could live without sweet and salty. just give me some mexican, italian or french food. or french fries.

I do love dessert when its homemade - since I don't make these at home - its always a treat when someone else does - like Fat Clemenza's. or mom's hot out of the oven chocolate pie with homemade crust, incredible chocolate filling and meringue... mom's homemade chocolate pound cake... banana pudding.... thankfully, I can't make any of these myself.

Got to have some chocolate after something salty. Goes hand and hand. Me thinks there is a ploy amongst the junk food companies.
