Hi Sowal, my family is planning on moving to Santa Rosa Beach this December and we are trying to figure out which school to send our children to. We are looking for a private school....Which private schools do you all suggest or know about that have good reputations/success rates? Thanks!

Well, I can tell you that the public schools in this area are so fantastic, they compare to high end private schools elsewhere in many ways. Seaside Middle in particular has few peers. My daughter goes to Bay Elementary for 5th grade. There are only 16 students in her class and she receives much personal attention in the picturesque early 1900's brick schoolhouse just on the fringe of Eden Gardens. The general atmosphere is almost a throwback to the 1950's and I couldn't be happier with her academic progress. All of the schools in South Walton are A+ rated as well! Okay, just wanted to throw in my 2 cents... Welcome to the area! 🙂

I have heard a few people mention the O School- but I can't find any info about it.

The OH school is based in Rosemary and features on-line classes with teacher supplement. They also do lots of cool trips and outings. I think it's for high school only, although I heard recently that middle schoolers are going too.

Just out of curiosity, why the interest in private vs public?

Hi, my name is Christine Buscarello and I am one of the founder/teachers at Compass Rose Academy also located in South Walton. We serve all children age 3 through the 5th grade.

Our school includes the best of Montessori as well as a more traditional curriculum called A Beka. We have very small class sizes, 8 students to 1 teacher is the perfect number for us. Our school day includes all of the basics (reading, writing, and arithmetic) but we also go a little father. We offer art, history, social studies, foreign language, p.e., and music as apart of our everyday curriculum.

If you need more information please visit our website and you will find lots of it. We have information on the curriculum we use, pictures of our students, two "a day in the life of" schedules, and all of the admissions information.

Our Contact Information is as followed please let me know if you would like to come and see the school!
