Happy trails and thanks for the deep-fried love!

Hartley Restaurant Group announced today the closure of two of their three restaurants, Seagrove Village Market Cafe and Watersound Village Market, while confirming that Surfing Deer remains open for business.

Following Hurricane Isaias, the Hartleys have made the difficult decision to close both Seagrove Village Market Cafe and Watersound Village Market, effective immediately. Thursday, Oct. 22, is the last day of service for both restaurants.

This isn’t the end for the family behind the delicious po’boys and deep fried love that the community has known for more than 75 years. The Hartley family plans to take this time to plan for what comes next.

While Surfing Deer also sustained damage, the Hartleys are grateful that the restaurant is able to remain open and fully operational for normal hours.

“We are incredibly grateful to our dedicated staff, loyal guests, and our community for the support. This community has been the heart of everything we do, and your loyalty to every one of our restaurants has meant more to our family than we can say,” said George Hartley, founder and owner of Hartley Restaurant Group.

“We look forward to serving you and your families as we create more fabulous food and colorful stories for years to come,” Hartley added.

Gift cards for any Hartley Restaurant Group restaurant may be redeemed at Surfing Deer for dining or merchandise. The community is encouraged to sign up for the restaurant group’s email list to stay informed on future updates.

Wow! Not surprised about Watersound but I figured Seagrove was a goldmine that someone would buy. Perhaps looking for a buyer.
