Woo Hoo!!!! I just booked a room for Me and Kelly for April 23-26!!!! They have a good deal going right now for those who need a weekend in paradise! I am so excited.

We were just there in March and loved it! It was the perfect get-away for us....I could have spent hours in the hammocks overlooking the water. I loved that the bike rental/kayak rental/fishing supply store was just across the street.

Hi Girl so good to "see" you!!! Guess what? We will be back June 26th as well!!! We have to see each other for sure. Hope you are doing wonderful. I haven't fallen out of the hammock yet, but I probably will before this trip is over!

Trip Report

Up at 3:00am on Friday morning. Out the door at 4:30am. After a stop at our local "Huddle House" that took freakin' forever, we made it to SoWal in exactly 5 hours. Went to jdargs house and saw her , she was gracious enough to open her house to us to change clothes so we could hit the beach after lunch. We decided we would just go on to lunch then change for the beach. We got to Flip Flops and I was so, so happy to see and meet so many wonderful SoWallers. It was jdargs birthday lunch and we got to crash it.

Kurt, the main man got on the phone an pulled some strings for us to be able to check in at the Villa's early. Thank you daddy-o for "everything". xoxo. Thank you Jason and Jeremy for letting us get in early. We really, really appreciate it.

It was a wonderful feeling walking back in here after being gone so long. It felt like home. The remodel is very cute. They did a wonderful job. The only complaint I have is that they painted over all of the beautiful hand painted murals that were in the bathrooms of all the rooms in the gulf front building. I understand why they did it, but it was just sad to see them gone.

It is nice to see the barriers gone off the back porches as well. The last time we were here we couldn't use the back porches because of the dune erosion. The hammocks are here, and I will be getting re-acquainted with them real soon!

Some very special time was spent on the beach with a kitty, a DD, a sunkist, a sunspotbaby with her beautiful precious little girls, and her friend michelle....we headed off to the Seagrove Market for some dinner. It sure doesn't look the same on that corner and yes I might have shed a tear or two, the food at the Market was good as always.

We got back to the Villa's to watch beautiful light show that mother nature had planned for us. ;-) What a most spectacular lightening show we have ever seen. It was awesome. We sat on the porch and watched it for along time.

It was an early night for us as we were pretty darn tired so we packed it in early with the hopes of rising early to start our day.

Today the skies are really gray and the seas are rough, rough, probably won't be getting in there today. But, that is ok. I am here and that is all that matters!

Kathy, I've enjoyed your report so far. I too love the villas. That was the first place I stayed in years ago, when Mrs. Flowers was still alive. My sons and I stayed there year after year in the early 80s. Ok, now here is my question, which building do you stay in? I started out in the cottages then we stayed in the top left unit upstairs for several years. I want to come back soon myself and need an update of the units.

Wow, the Villas are the first place I stayed, too. Bud & Alley's was my first meal......might have been the only restaurant in town now that I think about it.

Yes, having a wonderful time. Since the weather was so windy, cloudy yesterday we decided to ride around. We had breakfast at the Red Bar with The Kitty, DD, and Sunkist. It was just wonderful as always.

Went to the Seaside Farmers Market and then Modicas, I introduced myself to Deli Love...what a sweetie she is. Got to hug a handsome WDarg as well. Next it was off to Sundog books, I just love that place. Then we strolled around Ruskin place, I had never been there before. Some pretty shops in there. I really enjoyed that.

Came back to the Villa's and decided despite the weather we were going for a walk on the beach. It was VERY windy, but we battled through it and I am glad we did. Had a wonderful surprise visit from the Mer people. Great to be able to sit and chat with them.

Later in the afternoon we rode East through Alys Beach. It is such a beautiful place. Drove around through Rosemary Beach and really loved the feel of it. I had never been there and was really surprised by the European feel of it. It was lovely.

We decided we were going to dine at Shorty's and it was good. Glad I finally went there. We had the sweetest little waitress. The service and food was good. I had the Softshell Crab on cheese grits, Kelly had Gumbo, a salad and we shared some Tuna dip. Sara had a steak that she said was good as well. Good dining experience.

I went over to the Red Bar store to get a new shirt and sticker for my car. Came back to the Villas changed clothes and Sara and I went to Pandora's to meet up with some special SoWallers. So glad to finally meet Seagrovegirl and Tillerjeff. Got see my Kitty, DD, Sunkist, Franny, Canuck, the Mer people, SWGB, and Destinscuba. Had a wonderful time. Back to the Villa's then off to bed for hopefully a beautiful day on the beach today!

We had a blast, but sadly the Xterra is loaded and we must leave once again with a heavy heart.

We had a wonderful day on the beach all day yesterday. The weather was just beautiful. The water was still to bad to go in, but the beach was perfect. Met a scooterbug finally! Thank you so much for the gift of beer, it was very, very good. So nice to meet you!

Had a perfect dinner at the Red Bar listening to some Dread! Amazing as always. Had a wonderful visit with Mango and her sweet hubby. Thank you so much for coming out to see us. I know you guys were exhausted. Went by to say goodbye to the Kitty, DD and Sunkist and guess who shows up? Audie!!! So glad to finally met her and her hubby as well. Wish we could have visited longer but we were pooped. Hopefully next time. Have a great rest of your vacation!
