Heckofva Game!!! Congratulations to all of the Seahawks for that spectacular win over Bozeman. I lost it completely when Hunter Infinger caught that pass in the end zone. Woot Woot!!!
It just goes to show you how keeping your cool wins over unsportsmanlike conduct every time. The Bozeman team attempted to play a dirty game of football with late hits and kidney punches but the yellow flags were flying left and right. They earned more penalties (for their behavior) than I have ever seen given in a high school football game.
It was also hands down the coldest football game this Florida girl has ever been to. Thanks BobbyJ and Peaboy for standing close to me!

From today's Daily News:
South Walton beats Bozeman for program's first ever playoff victory
By TINA HARBUCK
Florida Freedom Newspapers
SANTA ROSA BEACH - The South Walton Seahawks took another step into unfamiliar territory Friday night when they defeated the Bozeman Bucks 34-27 in the Class 2B regional semifinals at South Walton High.
The Seahawks clinched their first-ever district title a couple of weeks ago and now they have won their first playoff game.
"If you want something you've never had, you've got to do something you've never done," said South Walton Coach David Barron as he walked off the field.
And that's what the Seahawks did.
"I knew it was going to be a good game and it was a physical war for 48 minutes," Barron said.
Hunter Infinger was the go-to guy for the Seahawks with five catches for 83 yards and three touchdowns.
"I knew they were going to be throwing to me tonight, but I didn't know it would be three touchdowns," Infinger said.
South Walton utilized two quarterbacks, as they have all season. Cody Adams was 9-of-9 for 127 yards and one touchdown, while Dennis Smith was 4-of-8 for 40 yards and two touchdowns.
Bozeman moved the ball on the ground primarily with Tyler Grier rushing for 127 yards and two touchdowns, and Mason Bennett pickied up 101 yards, including one touchdown. Paul Myers scored the other Bozeman touchdown.
Bozeman struck first in the contest on a 4-yard run by Myers about midway through the second quarter. About two minutes later, Bozeman was in the end zone again on a 3-yard run by Grier for a 14-0 lead.
In the last three minutes, the Seahawks put two touchdowns on the board. Smith connected with Infinger for both. David Bazylak missed an extra-point kick and the Seahawks trailed by one at the half.
Bozeman came out in the third and scored on a 10-play drive with Bennett scoring on a 2-yard run. The 2-point try failed.
South Walton came back to tie the game. This time Cody Bryant connected with Infinger on a 21-yarder for the score and Bazylak hit the PAT for a 20-20 game.
South Walton finished up with Smith scoring on a 1-yard run and Bazylak on a 19-yard run.
Smith stopped the Bucks on their last possession when he intercepted Travis Register.

On the way back from dinner last night, we got talking about how it seemed more like Michigan football weather than Florida football weather out there. As someone who grew up in a place where it wasn't too weird to see them shoveling snow off the astroturf come playoff time, I can offer up a couple of suggestions:
1. Proper layering- running tights under jeans really do help and aren't too bulky. Wool socks are nice as well- just make sure they don't make your shoes or boots too tight. You want there to be room for a layer of warm air between garments and skin.
2. You want a good hat or hood and gloves.
3. That awful powdered hot cocoa mix stuff from the concession stand is nice. Drink 2 cups or so very slowly, using the hot cup as a hand warmer as you do. Don't overconsume, because you don't want to end up in an unheated restroom where it is just as cold as it is in the bleachers.

It was mighty cold last night, but the Seahawks played a great game. There were a few girls in flip flops hanging out in the restroom in front of the hand dryers trying to stay warm! Florida teenagers don't know how to dress for the cold! Well actually there were some adults in shorts and flip flops - made me colder just to look at them.

I heard that Bozeman was playing some dirty football, and South Walton played a very clean game and still whooped 'em. Congratulations to the players, coaches, teachers, parents and role models in these players' lives for teaching them about something even more important than winning! Winning is just a bonus.

Nice win Seahawks. This is great for the Community. These young men showed true character as the Bozeman team fell apart with dirty play, unsportsman like conduct and a lack of class at the end.
I know the parents, coaches and sponsors are proud of this bunch.
Romeo thanks for sharing the blanket and the warmth. Its great that Bobby J trusts me enough to get that close to you....

What a game Seahawks! It just goes to show how far and well a team can do when they stick to the game plan. Bozeman did everything to rattle our boys and they played on with class. :clap:I have seen some incredible football over the years and the last two games by the Seahawks rank in the top 2 games I have ever seen! Go Seahawks!

I love how you kept yelling out "THIS IS BOBBY JOHNSON'S WIFE" like you wanted to make sure everyone knew that even though we were sharing a blanket, you were not with the girl that screamed "PUNCH HIM IN THE KIDNEY!"

Hate to be on the losing end of the 63-20 game out of Jacksonville. Do they have a running clock mercy rule for playoff games down here?
