I'll say now what I was too disappointed to say earlier.
We can always count on Shelly for an informed and thoughtful perspective. Deflation of blowhards is usually close by, too, something that is always near and dear for me. All delivered with a touch of wry humor.
I realize that SoWal will lose some of its novelty as it matures, and the level of frustration has crept up as various factions in the (non-forum) community continue to be the d***heads they've always been. Unlike many internet forums, though, SoWal.com is really a community, and it performs a very valuable community service. Lacking a functional local press, this is literally the only way we can get the poop on what's going down, and organize ourselves to act. We need folks like Shelly.

Maaaaaaan, I wish you'd reconsider. Your insightful humor cuts to the quick. Your "riding off into the sunset" line reminded me of one of my favorite movies. Here's a favorite scene. No doubt you already know your "one thing." Vaya con Dios, shelly. And like Bobby J, I'd love to share a cup before you go.
