Sheriff Johnson is non communicative and it appears, is over his head as a manager.  If he has reasons for his snafus, he isn't trying to defend himself...very well.  Time for him to move on.

If Sheriff Johnson stays in the current election that gives the citizens an opportunity to speak to the past as well as where they want to go in the future.  If he were to withdraw you could easily see a race balloon in candidates as the one in Jackson County has done with 13 and counting.  If the office were to become open, we could see the number of candidates rise rather than shrink.  I am not so sure that the more people you have in a race, the more choice you actually have.

Considering the tremendous accounting issues that continue to occur within the Walton County Sheriff's Office and the legal issues facing the Department with lawsuits concerning "firing of pregnant" officers sure to cost the taxpayers of Walton County upwards of a million dollars, should Ralph Johnson withdraw his name from the pre-qualified candiadates for Sheriff.
