Wacky Web Tales

Here's mine:

Road Trip!

One day my Uncle Mr. DD and my Aunt DD said they would take me and my sister Kitty on a trip to Louisiana.
“You will love Louisiana,” said Aunt DD. “It is famous for its wild gators, its emerald flowers, and its beautiful swinging hills.”
“I hope you packed plenty of oranges for the ride,” said Uncle Mr. DD. “It will probably take us 7 hours.”
So we all piled into Uncle Mr. DD and Aunt DD's Range Rover. At first the trip was really Sleepy. We sang “9 Bottles of oxygen on the Wall.” Then we counted the poodles that we saw runnins in the fields by the side of the road. But after 2 hours we had eaten all the oranges and Kitty was getting boring.
“Are we almost there?” she asked often.
“Yes, Pookie,” said Aunt DD.
Just then I saw a sign that said, “New Orleans: 2 miles.”
“Umm, Uncle Mr. DD, is New Orleans on the way to Louisiana?” I asked.
“Yeah,” said Kitty, pointing, “and is Jackson Square on the way to Louisiana?”
“Oh Crap!, kids,” laughed Uncle Mr. DD. “You can trust the expert.”
“One thing's for sure,” I muttered. “I don't think we're in Texas any more.”

I know this is for kids, but I must say I had a little funn with it.

Summer Fun

Every summer, people head to Lake Tootsie near SoWal. There are so many things to do at the lake. Lots of people snorkel, hoping to catch a glimpse of the freaking cows that live in the lake.
On Saturdays, people have swimming relay races. Each team has 29 members. Swimmers carry tourists that are passed from one team member to the next. The winning team is awarded surfers and sharks. Lots of people come to watch the races. They cheer on teams by shouting, “weedoggies!”
After the races, people paddle their dogs around the lake. Then everyone comes back to shore for a picnic of taco sandwiches and pie sundaes. Someone usually plays the dragon fly while people eat.
People are sad when the summer ends. But everyone looks forward to the next summer at Lake Tootsie when they can snorkel above the freaking cows, swim for prizes of surfers and sharks, and paddle their dogs.

The Camping Trip

It was a cold, rainy night. Skunkape and Kitty groomed around the campfire, towing songs and eating strawberries.

Soon they got tired, climbed into their bag, and eventually fell asleep. Suddenly, they were both wide awake. There was a loud rolling sound outside the tent. Kitty grabbed DD's head and held on for dear life. DD started chanting, “Lions and lamps and toes, oh my!” over and over again.

Then into their tent fell their friend Teresa. Teresa had been thirsty and had gone into the house for some tea. Now the tea was on the floor of their tent. But they all had a good laugh and went back to sleep.

It turned out to be a very on-line camping trip. And maybe next time they'll even leave Belin's backyard.

A Funky Fourth

Every year, Roeberg has a huge Fourth of July picnic. In addition to the usual booths that sell fried pork and banana on a stick, and the face-throwing stand, Roeberg always hosts a play reenacting famous historical scenes.

This year, things became confused because some scripts got mixed up at the copy shop. Last year, residents saw George Washington crossing the Delaware River, while this year, residents saw George Clooney dancing across Washington! A few years ago, residents saw Thomas Jefferson writing the Declaration of Independence. This year, they saw George Washington stealing a bible. To top it all off, instead of watching Abraham Lincoln recite the Gettysburg Address, residents saw jesus writing roses are red!

The town elders didn't know if they should be laughing or crying. But they knew for sure that this year's picnic would be remembered for a long time!

Goooooal!

"Only four minutes left, and the score was tied 23 to 23. “Get in there, Puddentang!” cried Coach Gomer. “I'm counting on you to help us win the game.”
I grabbed my lucky boy and ran onto the field. What luck. I got the girl right away and raced past three opponents. The crowd was flashing. I kicked the girl right at the goal. “hoorah,” I missed! The crowd became silent. I spotted Blake Lively and Leonardo Dicaprio in the stands looking very disappointed.
The other team had the girl with only two minutes left — that is until I intercepted it! I swam toward the goal and smashed the girl right into the net. “Goooooal!” screamed the announcer.
The crowd was beaming wildly. “Hooray for Puddentang! Puddentang! Puddentang! Puddentang!”
Then my alarm clock woke me up for school."
